Natural History – Birds & Plants

I decided  to go to Buffon’s castle in Monbard.
There I discovered 1006 engravings by Martinet of birds and plants
that Buffon had pasted  onto the walls of his “bureau” and that were rotting away.
By some amazing“ non-coincidence”
the museum was in the process of detaching the engravings
from the wall with the aim of sending them for restoration in Paris.
The back side of the engravings revealed their real magic.

and I then realized
that it was vital to be like a detective,
a scientist and to research at the source!
From this moment on, I have often used the museum as my own private archeologuical site.
