These hand-painted images on glass belong to the mostly forgotten pioneering period predating the history of cinema.
Photographed under a light ordinarily used for shooting underwater amoebas,
these plates display otherwise invisible details which narrate a totally different story,
underscoring their use by priests, sightseers and charlatans to terrify and abuse.
