The soul and language of flowers is a forgotten 19th-century idea that takes on new meaning in light of our current understanding of the intelligence of all lifeforms. These are images from my alchemystical herbarium. The flowers are soaked in different liquids (oils, alcohols, acids)  before being pressed between paper of varying qualities. The liquids have reduced the pigments leaving a flowing trace on the paper freeing their aura. These traces are photographed and enlarged to reveal the details of their beauty. They appear as natural aquarelles drawn by the hands of nature. The symbolism of flowers covers the entire range of human emotions, Once they were commonly understood but now mostly forgotten. I imagined this series after a long and difficult sickness and once cured, in my jubilation, I produced this series.
